It saddens me that I see in my peers as we age, more and more of them becoming less tolerant of those they label as fools.
It is like i see a collective cynicism in people as they age, whereby they give up on youthful ideals of people being helped and educated out of foolishness.
Or at least They give up on the idea that they may have any interest in being any part of helping them past their foolishness.
It seems there is trueness in the old expectation that as we spend more time alive we become more set in our ways.

I've tried to be a person who does what they can to talk to anyone, even if they seem like an idiot, and try and help them out if i think i can offer them a little guidance if I know something about what seems to be inconveniencing them or those they interact with.
I don't know if I'm getting any better or worse at it, but I hope that I am not getting more cynical about people too.

The three who have decided mairelys's fate gather round her solemnly, and she looks at each of them in turn with a look of fear on her face.
Come on guys... she half-smirks... You don't wanna hang me really do you? I'm one of you! I don't deserve this!
But the town continues resolutely. dragoncookie moves to grab mairelys's hand, and she pulls away quickly backing up a couple of metres.. The look on her face sours as she realises the town isn't going to back down. She pulls a knife out from some secret pocket. "Fine if you want to play it rough, then so be it!"
sallamino runs behind mairelys to cut off her escape route. dragoncookie advances from the left, and diremongoose from the right. She slashes the knife at the two of them and they look for an opening. sallamino sees that opening, and rugby tackles mairelys to the ground, where puts the noose around her neck.

She hangs.

You search her corpse for clues, and find an MJ-12 radio in another hidden pocket! mairelys was Marle from Chrono trigger - an evil MJ-12 Role investigator!



CONGRATULATIONS! the town has won the game!!!

This Advocate of world peace could not only survive the first attempt on his life, but also had a one-use resurrection ability

dragoncookie was a Skyron Blancmange! ()

He was an advocate of world peace inventor, each night he opened one of his boxes, and got a new device that would give him some effect that he could use that night as he chose in most cases and against his will in one.

The inventions he used were:
Invinci-pill, giving two people walkie talkies to night talk, Roleblocking EVERYone with poor Timmy, A lightning rod that drew al powers to one person on that night, and the role=removal vacuum you heard about on the last day.
His last remaining box, if you'd not killed off the last MJ-12 agent today would have contained the option to resurrect anybody whose role/alignment had not been revealed. which as the janitor was killed off quickly means yartek would have been his only option

sallamino was Sunshine!

She indeed was the Advocate of world peace who had the Skitzo power, she would choose a target, and then either protect, kill, investigate, or do nothing to them depending on whether i rolled a 1,2,3 or 4. (5 or 6 were re-rolls.)

yartek was the Death star....


He was MJ-12 too! yartek was a terrorist. He knew who the other MJ-12 agents were, but couldn't join them for their night kill discussion because he was undercover. The other MJ-12 didn't know about him either... What he could do was influence discussions, and so forth, and at any point of his choosing night or day he could insta-kill one person by charging his laser and blowing them and himself up in the process.
As well as this he would have scanned as innocent.

Poor yartek was swapped on night one with the MJ-12 kill target, so the MJ-12 did him in themselves - which to be honest is absolutely ROTTEN luck!


I do owe everyone an apology: On Day four with the lynch of ceroblade I did actually miscount the vote, and didn't realise it was a draw until after i'd made the ceroblade is dead post :( Having a)already revealed his role b)he coudl have lost the coin toss if i'd remembered and c) given the town already had the advantage in the game given where people's suspicions were correctly pointing in the private threads, I decided to let it stay as it was.
I implied there was a coin toss over the decision, because people were speculating lost about there being another power that affected the vote counts, and I didn't want to spoil the game by having everyone speculating on something that was a result of my mistake, so i nipped that idea in the bud with a mistruth. My apologies to all of you for that.

I'm going to go back and unlock all the posts now, bear with me it might take a short while of course as i dont have a paid account to do it en masse.

AWARDS:

Best Player Award goes to mairelys for playing an excellent "mafia," and managing to stay under the radar exceptionally well for her first time playing as a bad guy!

Most amusing private threads is given to dragoncookie for his constant upmarketing of the flavour in his inventor threads

Most effective move is given to ahsha for saving a townsperson and getting the mafia to kill one of their own and not even realise it!

Unluckiest player goes to yartek for being taken out by his own side so blindly by the bus driver, before he even got a chance to make much of his really interesting role (i was so dissapointed!)

Most confident even when totally wrong goes to x_equals_speed for several occasions when he said things which made him sound very certain in what he was theorising despite being 100% wrong (although it should be noted there were also plenty of times when he was also 100% right in his assertions of course too as he's very sharp!)


Finally, Well done everybody, you all made this game work really well, I'd like to thank everyone for taking part and coming up with great ideas for characters. this was a lot of fun for me to run :)

I believe neoanjou is thinking of ideas for a new game, so he might well be a source for our next fix ;)

CRACK! you hear the sound of the knife breaking in two! Never mind you have two back up knives, You lift the next knife and bring it down this time even harder, CRACK! same effect, the knife snaps in two again... You curse kitchen devils for not making strong enough steel under your breath and pull out the third knife quickly. You lunge at diremongoose's belly hoping to find a nice soft spot... CRACK! Shit, that was your last knife! Just as you pull away you see a glint of steel under the covers. Oh no, diremongoose is made of metal, no wonder your knives didn't work! You are about to plan a different method when he stirs and looks like he is about to wake! Quickly you evacuate the room and return back to yours, lest you be caught red-handed!
You've been foiled tonight from making your kill, if you get another chance at it you'll come prepared next time :(
